Tour Schedules – Departure Dates

We are glad you are planning dates. We do camp, but we cannot leave our camp between tours. We do need two boats besides the boat for the tour when camping, one to set up and one for breaking off the camp.  We plan the tours back to back to divide the costs of the logistics. Once we have one trip with people, we offer promotions to make the trip more efficient.  2 alone is expensive, but when right before or after another trip with more people, we may be able to lower the price. The camping trips have 1 night in Heliconia and 2 nights on the Coiba camp. You will be back around midday in Heliconia B&B.  The trips are scheduled with good tides.

We also offer our Coiba Bahia Honda trips, they are more popular for early July or early September, or when it rains more than expected. This package has 1 night in Heliconia and 1 night in a fisherman’s village (with air conditioning) on an island in Bahia Honda at 30 minutes from Coiba. With this tour, if weather permits, we will be back in Heliconia between 3 and 4 pm. If weather is windy or rain expected in the afternoon, we rise earlier to return earlier in the afternoon.

Both tours snorkel at least in 5 reefs and do 2 walks. The camping trip has an extra mangrove tour by boat. Both tours can drop you in Santa Catalina if the tide permits, do ask us in advance. The Bahia Honda tour can have an add on with a mangrove tour in Quebro, Mariato for the next morning, if staying the extra night with us at Heliconia.

The very long daytrip (9 hours) is only offered as a special requests for groups of birders with trails and a minimum to no snorkeling. We do provide other day trips within Mariato District  (we are NOT based in Santa Catalina), including Cerro Hoya National Park, Mangroves by foot or by boat, Tidal Pool Adventures, Garden short trips or Observational Drawing trips and courses. The turtles are laying eggs again and baby turtles are hatching a lot. We hope to entertain you for more beside Coiba!

September is wet October too. We do not go to coiba from 15 Sept til 15 November

We partner with locals and try to avoid separating staff from their families on important holidays. This is why we don’t go to Coiba on Panama’s Mother’s Day (8 Dec); Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year. We do not schedule Carnival and Easter because they tend to be more crowded than we like.

Please contact us! by WhatsApp or email or form, since rules and regulations may change.
